The CCCHS Varsity Scholars Bowl claimed first place at the Washington County Invitational Tournament, finishing with a 4-1 record. Despite a 50-60 loss to Frankfort, the team bounced back, securing a 50-40 victory in the finals against the same opponent. Luke Lingle led as the top scorer with 220 points.
Josef Browning listed all five BRICS nations (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) when asked to name three. The team was comprised of Josef Browning, Luke Lingle, Elizabeth Larson, Noah Macy, and Blaine Benfer.
Upcoming meets include St. Xavier on November 9, St. John-Beloit on November 13 for JV, and Concordia on January 22 for JV/V. The Varsity team looks ahead to Regionals in Mulvane on February 1, with potential advancement to the state competition on February 10 in McPherson.
