Clay County EMS has begun to offer monthly Heartsaver CPR classes.
CPR stands for cardiopulmonary resuscitation. CCEMS Service Director Alec Trembath says the skills taught in the classes can be life saving, especially in the time before an ambulance arrives:
These classes will be held on the 2nd Saturday of every month. Trembath says the skills taught during the classes include first aid, AED use, and pediatric CPR, and teach an average of 6 to 12 people per class:
The eCPR cards are stored on your phone and show you have completed the training. The CPR training certificate can be a requirement of certain childcare and lifeguard jobs and can also be a boost to a resume.
