Kyle Bauer announced that his family and affiliated companies have bought 10 radio stations Thursday, February 1 on a bankruptcy auction. The stations were formerly owned by Rocking M and Melia Communications and are licensed to Goodland, Colby, Dodge City, Cimarron, and Liberal, Kansas.
The stations were purchased by Kansas Broadcasting Company, LLC which is entirely owned by Kyle and Lisa Bauer and Bauer, Inc, a family owned corporation. The Bankruptcy Hearing is scheduled for February 15th for final approval. After that time, FCC approval will be applied for which is expected to take about 90 days.
Bauer said, “We are so happy to have gotten the opportunity to buy these two clusters of stations. The markets they serve are growing populations in strong retail trade communities. We are not planning large changes, just building on the base that is there.” Bauer has partially owned and managed KCLY/ KFRM radio in Clay Center for the last 25 plus years.
