The Clay Center Community Church Camp is currently accepting scholarship applications for summer youth group trips. The Community Church Camp is a nonprofit organization that has been providing youth scholarships in the area since 2013. To date, they have provided church camp experiences to nearly 750 youth. Applications are available at the Clay Center Presbyterian Church, Clay Center Methodist Church, or on the Church Camp Committee’s Facebook page.
Funds for these scholarships are provided entirely by community volunteers and community donations. This year at least two church youth groups in the area would like to attend the Student Life Camp in Estes Park, Colorado, with around 110 students needing help with registration and travel fees. With these students, along with other youth from the area looking to attend camps, funds are needed to help cover the costs. They are expecting to still need over $40,000 to make sure all students wanting to go to camp are covered.
