Clay Center Community High School Gymnasium to Feature New LED Video Board Soon

The Clay Center Community High School Gymnasium is getting an upgrade very soon. In last month’s USD 379 School Board Meeting Board members gave final approval for an LED video board to be purchased and installed in the gym.

Greg Ferguson, Athletic Director, said it will be a 13.5 by 7.5 foot video board, providing a wealth of additional features to the high school.

“This video board will provide us with custom graphics for our basketball and wrestling events, as well as any other events we may be hosting in the gym. It will allow us to do unlimited advertising, player profile-type videos, game prompts, and probably a lot more that will uncover as we dig into it and learn more about it.”

Ferguson said they are currently running the electricity for the new board and they’re hoping to have it installed before the end of basketball season, but it’ll be close.

The yearbook and video classes will be working together to help provide the content for the new board. Ferguson said this will be great to promote the community and students.

“It’s going to be a great opportunity to promote our businesses in the community that support our kids, and of course promote our kids and their activities as well. We are very thankful for the generous donations that made this possible.”
