The Clay Center Covenant Church will host their annual 6K Water Walk Fundraiser on Sunday, June 29th, in Dexter Park, with a Worship Service beginning at 9:00 a.m.
The 6K Water Walk is meant to raise awareness and funds in an effort to provide water to those struggling with water needs in Chad, Africa. The 6K represents the average distance people in the region of Chad walk daily to acquire water.
Partnering with ‘Kingdom Work,’ proceeds raised from this important mission help drill water wells in some of the neediest areas around the globe.
The 6K Walk will begin at Dexter Park at 10:15 a.m., with a route traversing around the community. Followed by a barbecue lunch at 11:30 in the park. Law enforcement will help with the walk, and EMS will also take part in the event.
Last year’s Water Walk brought in over $18,000, with nearly 200 people participating. The Walk raised enough funds to build five wells in Chad. Lead Pastor Brad Mann was amazed by the turnout last year.
“It was pretty amazing to see 190 people just taking off on this walk, just trying to identify with what other people have to experience.”
Community members are invited and encouraged to take part in this powerful mission.
Cash or check donations will be accepted on the day of the walk. You can also donate online and get more information on this mission by visiting https://www.claycentercovenant.com/?page_id=7325.
