According to a press release, the Clay Center Fire Department was dispatched to 220 W Lincoln St for a gas leak on Tuesday, June 18.
Units arrived at 10:35 a.m. and were met by the residents. The pair said the husband had been digging a hole to repair a broken fence that was connected to a greenhouse.
Fire units used the 4 gas meter to determine how much gas had been dispersed, and advised the residents that Kansas Gas would have to shut the gas off. Kansas Gas arrived on scene and shut the gas off.
