Clay Center Head Start To Hold Poverty Simulation

By Quinn O’Hara

Clay Center’s Head Start is seeking volunteers to aid with a poverty simulation.

Head Start is a federally regulated and funded early learning program that serves families living at or below the federal poverty guideline. This means families who, depending on the size of the household, earn less than $15,000 per year.

Audrey Waid, the Executive Director of Clay County Child Care Center, says the simulation will be a part of an all staff training on February 19th:

Clay Center Head Start is seeking volunteers to role play as bankers, employers, grocery store workers, and other roles during the simulation.
