Grow Clay County is continuing fundraising and building work on the Multi-Generational Life Center, which will be occupied by September 2025. Grow Clay County Director Natalie Muruato gives an update, “Right now they’re finalizing the plans, they’re putting the metal building out for bid, cause the lead time on that is about six months. Site work like soil samples and all the permitting must be done.”
The Multi-Generational Life Center will be located near 9th Street and 19th Road in Clay Center, north of the Clay Center Community Middle School. The Life Center includes a gathering space with a commercial kitchen, child care center, youth lounge, and senior center. McCownGordon Construction Company is the contractor on the project and meets every other week with Grow Clay County and City of Clay Center Representatives, such as the mayor, recreation committee members, and city council members.
