Clay Center was incorporated 150 years ago on June 11th, 1875. To celebrate the town’s 150th birthday, this year’s Piotique theme will be “Stars, Stripes, & Small-Town Pride.” The event will take place on Saturday, September 27th.

Deputy City Clerk, Lindsay Clark, said, “As we were going to plan a celebration, we were approached to have this be the theme for Piotique. We felt like that was a better way to enhance the occasion.”

In the meantime, the City of Clay Center will be posting trivia questions about the town’s history on their Facebook page the week of June 9th-13th to celebrate. Gift cards will be given away as prizes.

The Clay Center Aquatic Park will also be offering free admission on Saturday, June 14th from 1:00 pm-7:00 pm to celebrate.
