Clay County Medical Center (CCMC) is pleased to announce the addition of Crystal Hathorne, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She will provide comprehensive behavioral health services to patients of all ages, expanding access to mental health care in Clay County and surrounding communities.
Crystal brings a wealth of experience across multiple specialties and care settings. Most recently, she practiced at two private practices in Manhattan, KS, where she provided psychiatric assessments, prescribed medications, and offered supportive psychotherapy. She was also a skilled TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) provider and treated patients with treatment-resistant depression and even helped establish a Junction City clinic focused on serving the military community.
Her career additionally includes experience in oncology, inpatient psychiatry, critical care, and school health, reflecting her ability to care for patients across diverse needs and life stages. She is board certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and also holds certifications as an Oncology Certified Nurse and Clinical Research Professional.
A Texas native, Crystal earned her Master of Science in Nursing with honors from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
Having relocated frequently as a military spouse, Crystal and her family have chosen Kansas as their permanent home. She and her husband, a soon-to-retire Army veteran, live outside Junction City with their three children and a lively assortment of pets and livestock.
