Clay County Museum Shifting Displays, Investing in Building Repairs

By Quinn O’Hara

Since the start of 2024, the Clay County Museum has been in the process of shifting around displays, planning for future displays, and investing in minor building repairs.

Museum Director Jeff Gaiser shares some of what’s been done since the start of the year.

The Clay County Museum said repairs to their warehouse total $250,000. The Clay County Museum’s Curator of Documents, Grace Kensa, will be taking classes to learn how to write grants to offset the cost.

In a Facebook post on May 3, the Museum said, “Until we can raise the money to fix the major issues, we are planning what we can do for the minor ones inside.” Adding that, “We’ve got a lot more to do, but we’re making good progress.”
