The Clay County Commission has officially Proclaimed October 6th through October 12th as National 4-H Week throughout Clay County. Supporting nearly six million youth nationwide, 4-H is the largest youth development organization.
4-H is an organization designed to help instill confidence, belonging, and life skills in youth to help prepare them for life. Former 4-Her Maci Jefferis said 4-H helped her greatly as a youth.
This year’s theme is “Beyond Ready,” showcasing the initiative of preparing youth to be successful in life. The week reminds us that all youth have the strength to positively influence and improve the world. Jefferis said to remember that 4-H isn’t just about animals, as some may assume.
Take the time to appreciate this organization and its impact on local youth during 4-H Week. Information on what all 4-H has to offer can be found by visiting your local extension office or online at 4-h.org.
