After roughly 10 months of construction, the Clay County Vietnam Veterans Bridge, located on highway 15 just south of Clay Center, is mostly finished.
Construction crews removed traffic cones, road dividers, and mobile traffic lights on the evening of March 11 opening up both lanes of traffic to commuters.
KDOT’s District 2 Public Affairs Manager Ashley Perez said the project’s original contract cost was $1.5 million and included several repairs.
Perez notes that those minor adjustments will need to be completed and inspected before the project is officially complete.
