Community Meets $500,000 Matching Challenge for Multi-Generational Life Center

Clay Center, KS — November 5, 2025

The Clay Center community has once again shown what can happen when they unite for a common goal. The Multi-Generational Life Center Fundraising Committee is proud to announce that the community has successfully met the $500,000 matching donation challenge set forth by a generous anonymous donor. This incredible milestone brings the total raised for the Life Center project to over $1 million, fully funding the building and demonstrating the collective belief in the importance of a facility designed to serve people of all ages, from youth to seniors, under one roof. The anonymous matching challenge, issued at the end of August, inspired hundreds of contributions from individuals, families, businesses, and organizations across Clay County and beyond. As the final deadline approached, one generous donor stepped forward to fund the remaining dollars needed to reach the goal, ensuring the challenge was met in full.

“We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to the donor who made that final gift on the last day,” the committee said. “Their generosity, along with every contribution that came before it, helped push us across the finish line and made this possible. This success belongs to everyone who donated, volunteered, shared our mission, and believed in the vision for the Life Center.

“And to our original anonymous matching donor, thank you for believing in this project and in the power of community. Your challenge inspired action, excitement, and unity throughout Clay County and beyond. You reminded us that one spark of generosity can ignite something truly extraordinary.”

The Multi Generational Life Center is scheduled to be completed by September of 2026 and will serve as a hub for wellness, recreation, learning, and connection for generations to come.

“Our hearts are full — and maybe a little tired — but we couldn’t be prouder of what this community has accomplished,” the committee shared. “This achievement reinforces that Clay Center’s strength has always been its people. Together, we’re building something that will impact lives for decades.”
