Deceased Victim of Car Accident Tentatively Identified

Clay County, KS- The Clay County Sheriff’s Department believes they have identified the victim of an accident as a 38-year-old male who was reported missing to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office September 21st.

 

The individual was found by the Clay County Highway Department in a wrecked passenger car on Utah Road on Thursday, October 13th.

 

The vehicle was found in a culvert for a creek that runs under Utah Road.

 

The accident investigation showed that the vehicle was traveling south on Utah Road, and fell into the east ditch and culvert approximately 15 feet east from the roadway.

 

The driver was the only occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the coroner and was transported for an autopsy.

 

The victim is believed to have been identified but we are not releasing their name at this time out of respect for the family.
