Dive Into Scouting: Clay Center Scout Sign-Up Night Features Night Swim and Cardboard Boat Races August 13th

Join the Clay Center Cub and Scout BSA Troops on Wednesday, August 13th, at the Clay Center Aquatic Park for their Scout Sign Up Night, beginning at 8:15 p.m. Children from Kindergarten through High School, and their parents, are encouraged to attend.

This year’s fun will feature a night swim and cardboard boat races. Bring your premade 2-person cardboard boats to the swimming pool that evening for some friendly competition, with the first race starting at 9:15 p.m.

While there, parents and their children are encouraged to learn about the local Scout Troops, which include Cub Scout Pack 55, Boys Troop 54, and Girls Troop 254.

Jeanna Fancella, Den Leader, said come have some fun and learn about Scouting.

“During our Scout Sign Up Night, parents can meet their Troop’s Den Leaders, learn when each of the dens will meet, and more.”

“If you have older kids, grades six through 12, they can sign up for the Scouts BSA program.”

“Just come down, have some fun, and learn about Scouting!”

Prizes will be given for the best-built cardboard boat. Boats need to be prebuilt and registered by 9:00 p.m. to compete.
