While drought conditions have improved significantly in southern Kansas, northern counties are still seeing abnormally dry to severe drought conditions across the state.

According to the latest U.S. Drought Monitor report released yesterday, severe drought conditions persist in parts of Washington and Marshall Counties. Portions of Dickinson, Clay, and Ottawa Counties show abnormally dry conditions. While a large portion of Cloud and Republic Counties are seeing moderate drought conditions.

The weekend forecast will not help the relief with forecasted temperatures near triple digits and dry conditions. Off and on chances of precipitation are forecasted next week for the northern part of the state.
