Yesterday, January 25th, many local officials attended a meeting to discuss a wildfire and emergency response plan of action for Clay County.
Organizations and groups represented in the meeting included USD 379, several Clay County government offices, the Kansas Forest Service, local business owners, Fire Chiefs and Emergency Managers from several surrounding counties, and more.
Pam Kemp, the Director of Clay County Emergency Management, who hosted the event, says she is excited about the ideas the group came up with:
