The Clay Counts Coalition and Clay County Health Department are set to host a “Courageous Conversation” event for women of high school age and up on Monday, February 10th at the Rex Theatre. This free event, titled “Strong Sisters” will run from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.

Alexandra Martin, Event Organizer, said this program is designed to educate women on self-care, in all aspects of their lives.

“The primary goal of this Program is to empower women by educating them on the many aspects of self-care, from physical health to mental well-being. It aims to provide our participants with valuable insights and knowledge that will help them prioritize and nurture their overall well-being.”

Little Learners Childhood Connection staff will provide childcare with a meal at no cost at Common Ground. A form will need to be filled out prior to the event so they have a count for staffing and food.

Martin said while it will be a fun event, attendees should be prepared to tackle some difficult topics.

“We recommend high school age as the minimum due to the sensitive nature of the topics we’ll be covering. While the event will be fun, it’ll also be educational.”

“The title Courageous Conversation reflects the serious subjects we will address, such as sexual assault and domestic violence. We ask that our participants come prepared for these important and potentially difficult discussions.”

The event will feature educational booths, great networking opportunities, and informative information. Light snacks will be provided and the first 50 women to enter will get a goody bag.

Women are highly encouraged to join this very informative, empowering event. A QR Code for childcare can be found on the flyer below.
