Phil Kasper with the Clay Center Fire Department confirmed that this morning, a call was placed to the Fire Department of a fire at 1448 Frontier Rd, west of Clay Center.

Firefighters arrived at what appeared to be a propane explosion, with the house a total loss.

One male was at the residence and was found in serious condition. Attempts at getting the victim life-flighted were underway as Kasper was leaving the scene.

The explosion occurred in the Miltonvale Rural Fire District. Crews out of Miltonvale and the sheriff’s department took over the scene.
