2020 Graduate from CCCHS Clara Edwards has big impact on the University of South Dakota Softball Program. Edwards just finished up her career with the Yotes in the Summit League Championships this past weekend in Brookings, S.D. She helped her team get to the championship game for just the third time in school’s history. Clara pitched a five-inning 9-1 win over Omaha to get them to the title game. She pitched all 5 innings with 3 strikeouts and giving up only 5 hits. South Dakota and Omaha would square off for a second straight game with the winner claiming the title. Edwards again pitched well; yielding only 3 runs and 8 hits in 4 innings of work. Edwards was one of four Yotes to named to the All-Summit Tournament Team. She was also named First Team All-League for the regular season with a 3.26 ERA, 29 K’s and a team high 4 shutouts; at the plate she batted .244; doubled, tripled and homered on her way to 6 RBI. Edwards had also earned All-League honors in 2022, 2023 and 2024.
