On February 15th, 14 former Wakefield School educators and principals met over coffee at the Bomber Grind in Wakefield.
Lisa Day Seirer is a former educator for the Wakefield School and is the group’s meeting coordinator. She said she started the program this past fall.
Seirer said the monthly events give the former educators a space to reconnect with their old friends.
Seirer estimates the average age of the group to be around 70 years old, with the oldest members being in their 90s. Seirer added that though members of the group may be retired, many still actively serve as substitutes for the Wakefield School. Seirer hopes to invite more former staff to their next coffee meeting and continue to grow their group.
