Grow Clay County and GN Bank of Clay Center partnered up for June’s Wake Up Wednesday on June 5.

Wake Up Wednesday is a monthly event organized by Grow Clay County and hosted at local businesses and organizations. The monthly event gives the partnering organization a chance to share about themselves and talk with the community.

Community Bank President Brett Hubka expressed his thanks to those who attended the meeting and shared information on the bank’s history and services.

GN Bank Market Specialist Stacy Simmer shared ways folks can protect themselves and their bank account from scammers.

Tips included not sharing your debit card’s PIN, keeping an eye out for card skimmers on payment terminals, and using a family code word to assure you are sending money to the correct person.

Simmer then announced a new service unique to GN Bank’s Clay Center location: instant issuance cards. Simmer explained that should a patron lose or destroy their GN Bank debit card, they can be issued a new card that same day. Simmer said the new service is, “another way GN Bank can provide better service to our community.”
