Grow Clay County Has An App For That

By Rhys Baker

There will soon be an app for that. With the help of the Clay County Commissioners, Grow Clay County is creating an app called Clay Co to be released in early December. Grow Clay County Director Natalie Muruato talks about the advantages of having an app for Clay County, “One of the beautiful things, like, you’ll be able to see everything that’s going on in Clay on your phone right away. You don’t have to go to a different website. You don’t have to go to Facebook to find it. Events, our explore site, can all be found on the app. If you wanna know more about where to stay, what to do, we’ll have the mural map on there.”

“One of the issues we had at Piotique was the event times and listings were on flyers, and if you scroll back through Facebook or your things, you could find it, but you couldn’t find it instantly to know what was going on unless you found a paper flyer. (With the app) Everybody can know what’s going on at their fingertips. We’d have a special section for Piotique. You could go there, you could see the whole schedule, you could see what was going on.”

Muruato added that the newly forming Young Professionals group can use the app to communicate with each other via live feeds and showcase what they are accomplishing via the app. She says her office is finalizing the app, “Right now, we’re entering in all of the data. So each person can log in and have their own. They can kind of personalize it. So we’re hoping that we’ll do what’s called the check-in so that we can get everybody to download it, hopefully, and start using it.”

The Clay Co app will be available in the Apple Store and Google Play.
