Grow Clay County will host its Annual Awards Gala titled “An Evening with the Stars” on Saturday, February 15th at the Clay County Event Center, beginning with a Social Hour at 5:00 p.m.
This Annual Gala brings the community together to celebrate Clay County, recognizing those who “shone brightly” the previous year. Kathryn Doster-Tipsword, Lead Event Coordinator, spoke more about the Gala.
“Our Annual Gala is meant for us to just celebrate the amazing businesses and people in Clay County. We do that by hosting our “Best of” nominations. We then go through all the nominations; we’ve got a very specific rubric that we go by that helps us determine who wins the awards.”
“It’s just a fun night for us to get to celebrate those people who make our community a better place.”
Dinner will be served at 6:00 p.m., followed by the awards presentations. Following the awards, the entertainment begins. Tipsword said this year they have added some more interactive entertainment, along with a silent auction.
“This year we’re having a Game Show host, his name is Dave Lewis. So, it’ll be fun to have some entertainment that’s interactive with our guests.”
“We’re also doing a Silent Auction with Centerpieces. We sent out an e-mail to all of our investors that we have to let them know we want to do this Centerpiece Silent Auction. They’re responsible for creating a Centerpiece that’s either Hollywood-themed, or they can also represent their business if they like, to auction off. If there are any big-ticket items, we will do a Live Auction with them.”
“It’s kind of different from what we did last year, but it’s going to be super fun I think.”
Guests are encouraged to dress to impress in their Formal Attire as they celebrate the “Stars” of Clay County. Tickets are on sale now through February 5th.
