‘Healthy Family Healthy Community’ Event To Give Guardians Free Access To Marketplace, Medicaid, Navigators, More

By Quinn O’Hara

On June 6, from 4-7pm, Grow Clay County and several community partners will gather on the Clay County Courthouse Square to provide families free assistance in signing up for Medicaid, Head Start, EBT, SNAP, and many other programs.

Grow Clay County’s Marketplace Navigator Tracy Myers said many families have recently been taken off Medicaid and have had problems acquiring medication for their children. Myers said that the event, dubbed ‘Healthy Family, Healthy Community,’ aims to address this and similar problems by providing free assistance to local families.

The event will feature free food for families and games for children while parents talk with representatives from Grow Clay County, Little Learners Childhood Connections, Parents as Teachers, USD 379, the Clay Counts Coalition, Meadowlark Hospice, mental health professionals, and more.
