Kids Cafe To Provide Meals This Summer

By Ryan Duey

The St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Clay Center will once again hold its Kids Café this summer for all children up to 18 years of age. St. Paul’s Kids Café is a free lunch program offered by the church, running Monday through Friday from June 3rd to July 31st.

Deacon Carolyn Garwood said this Grab-And-Go style program has been going on for close to 15 years.

This year the Kids Café will be held in the alley between the church and Wendy’s just off 6th street. Kids can drop by alone or their parents can go by between 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to grab a free, healthy lunch to bring home.

Garwood said in the past they served around 100 children a day. This is a great opportunity, by a caring organization, to make sure all children in the community have a lunch option throughout the summer.
