On Saturday, October 12th the Clay County Historical Society will host a guided Historic Downtown Walk, touring historical buildings of downtown Clay Center. The walk will begin at the Clay County Museum at 10:30 a.m.

Pat Gilbert, Historical Society & Museum Board Member, said they will stop at three places of historical interest in Clay Center.

Jan Keim will be playing the role of Pharmacist Bertha Holzgang, speaking of her time in Clay Center at the museum. Connie Frigon will play the part of Maud Gollober, speaking of the history of the Gollober building, and Max Hansen himself will speak about his and his brother’s former Ford Motor Company in front of Happy Hippie.

Gilbert said attendees will learn about downtown’s history and the people who helped make Clay Center what it is today.

Tickets can be purchased at the Clay County Museum or online on their website. Gilbert said they will offer two guided tours, limited to 20 people in each group.  Grab your tickets early as space is limited.
