The K-State River Valley District will be hosting a Mushroom Cultivation Workshop in Clay Center on Saturday, April 20th. The Workshop will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the 4-H Conference Center on the Clay County Fairgrounds.
Attendees will learn how to grow gourmet mushrooms such as shiitake, wine cap, and oyster. Kelsey Hatesohl, Horticultural Extension Agent, is hosting this workshop and says it will be a hands-on project.
Hatesohl said Pam Paulsen with K-State Extension will be there to teach all about growing homegrown mushrooms.
It is requested that attendees bring a hand drill, plus extra batteries if cordless. Space for this Workshop is limited so register early. RSVP by contacting Hatesohl at the Washington Extension Office.
