According to unofficial results from the Clay County Clerk’s Office, just 9.17%, or 531, of the 5,793 registered Clay County voters cast a ballot in the 2024 Presidential Preference Primary.

Of those who participated, 90.77% were registered Republicans and 9.23% were Democrats. Incumbent Joseph R. Biden Jr received 81.63% of Democrat votes. Marianne Williamson came in second place to Biden, receiving 8.16% of the Democratic vote- the same percentage of voters who chose none of the names shown on the ballot.

Donald J. Trump received 74.27% of the Republican vote. Nikki R. Haley was the runner up to Trump with 17.01% of the vote, and Ron DeSantis came in third at 2.49%. 5.81% of registered Republican voters in the primary selected none of the names shown on the ballot.

The 2024 Kansas Presidential Preference Primary does not select the President or a party candidate. Instead, the vote totals are given to a political party to allocate delegates to candidates at the national convention.
