Optometrist Tony Brown, who operates offices in Washington and Clay Center, donated 200 Solar Eclipse Viewing Glasses to the 4th and 5th grade classes at Garfield Elementary in Clay Center, and 50 Solar Eclipse Glasses to the schools in Hanover and Linn.

Dr. Brown said he used a program from the Kansas Lions Sight Foundation to facilitate the donation of the glasses.

Dr. Brown stressed the importance of using the proper eye protection when viewing today’s solar eclipse.

Eclipse viewers within the KCLY Listening Area saw 80-84% totality during the eclipse depending on their location.
