The Clay Center Community Improvement Foundation (CCCIF) is thrilled to announce a $275,000 donation from longtime community supporters Mike and Nelda Floersch towards the Clay Center Multi-Generational Life Center project. This donation secures the naming rights to the last gymnasium and the Childcare Reception and Lobby.

“Mike and I feel very fortunate to make this contribution to the Clay Center Multi-Generational Center after the community’s loyal support and our reliable workforce of 45 years, where we have been a part of the grocery retail sector since 1980,” Nelda said.

“As a community, we experience tremendous knowledge, talent, and generosity with leadership that recognizes and appreciates what we have established and where we can do better. Life is a lot of problem solving and how we pull together to address concerns.

“A recent article in THE MESSENGER, a newsletter from the Sisters of St. Joseph in Concordia, Kansas, Sister Jan McCormick wrote about Faith and Hope. The root of the article was directed to God’s promises to us and how they apply to decision making.

“She once saw a poster that said, ‘Hope is the ability to hear the melody of the future. Faith is the courage to dance to it today.’
The meetings, the discernment, the grants, and the donations are all participation in the dance. Together we are resilient!”

The CCCIF extends its heartfelt thanks to Mike and Nelda for their generous gift and unwavering commitment to building a brighter future for Clay Center.
