New Hope Ministries in Clay Center is accepting items for its upcoming Public Donation Yard Sale, set for Friday, June 20th, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, June 21st, from 8:00 a.m. to noon. The Yard Sale will take place at the Clay Center Wesleyan Church.

Proceeds from the Yard Sale go towards the Hope House, helping women in need throughout the community. Marcia Campbell, New Hope Director, said New Hope Ministries helps in any way they can.

“Funds will help support the Hope House, a sober living transitional home for women who have completed their treatment.”

“We also help women who are in a domestic violence situation, or who are in like, a sexual assault situation. We will help them however we can.”

Women in the Program work through an individualized goal-setting plan, helping them succeed and transition back into society. Campbell spoke more about the Program.

“Gals that come through, they will do an individual growth plan. Then they work on a battle plan on how they will succeed at fulfilling those goals.”

“It costs about $4500 a month to run the Hope Ministry. So, we thought that we would try doing some fundraising to bring some of these funds up so that we can continue doing what we do in the Community.”

As a nonprofit organization, New Hope Ministries relies heavily on the community through donations and fundraising to keep this vital Program going.

Campbell does ask that donated items be in gently used condition. To donate items for the Yard Sale, contact Campbell at (785) 447-1690. Donations are needed by June 17th.
