Thanks to a partnership with Clay County Medical Center, the General Public Transportation Fleet has added a new wheelchair-accessible van to their fleet. Clay County Medical Center Director of Planning and Development Bryce Dolan says, “General transportation reached out to us after the high number of passengers come to either clinic or the hospital. The partnership was kind of a no-brainer on our end to support them to get a vehicle that could securely and safely transport individuals in wheelchairs so they could make it to their appointment at the hospital or the clinic and make sure that general transportation had a reliable wheelchair vehicle in their fleet.”
The van will give Clay County residents with disabilities access to vital healthcare services. Still, Dolan says that’s not the only destination for Clay County General Public Transportation, “This wheelchair-accessible van is not just designated for bringing people here to the hospital, but also wherever else they might need to go.”
The newly acquired wheelchair-accessible van is already in service via Clay County General Public Transportation.
