The annual Piotique Festival will take place in Clay Center on Saturday, September 28th, offering a full schedule of events for the community. Festivities begin Friday evening with the 13th annual cruise night at 6 p.m.
On Saturday, the day starts with check-in for the 10k and 2-mile races at 6:15 a.m., followed by a 7 a.m. race start. Vendors will open at 8 a.m. around the courthouse square, featuring food, crafts, train rides, and free bounce houses. Other events starting at 8 a.m. include the BPW Car Show, a sidewalk art contest, and kiting activities. A petting zoo opens at 8:30 a.m.
Children’s activities include a bike decorating station at The Rex Theatre at 8:45 a.m., the Java Junies T-Rex Race at 9:15 a.m., and the Kiddie Parade at 9:45 a.m. The Grand Parade will start at 11 a.m., running from Apollo Towers to the courthouse and ending at the fire station.
Afternoon events include performances on the Main Stage, a pie baking contest, carnival games, and a cornhole tournament. A tribute video will be shown at The Rex Theatre at 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
The day will conclude with the Jayhusker Race at 6:30 p.m. at the Clay County Fairgrounds. The Beer Garden will be open from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. throughout the day.
