Arielle Kelly, Community Support Specialist with DCCCA, Inc. will visit Clay Center on Tuesday, March 11th to present a “Prescription Drug Safety for Seniors” Program at Prairie Land Partners at 9:00 a.m.

Kelly is the Northeast Region Specialist in the Behavior Health Training and Technical Assistance Program for DCCCA, which works with community coalitions and individuals in substance use and preventative services. Kelly said this program is meant for patrons aged 65 and up.

“The Adult Medication Safety Training is intended for adults 65 and older. Participants will learn how to equip themselves with information for appropriate medication use, medication storage, and proper medication disposal.”

The training is free through DCCCA and will run about a half hour. Kelly said that attendees will receive a four-ounce bottle of RX Destroyer, which helps people safely dispose of unneeded medication.

Kelly said they do offer this training virtually as well.

“If you cannot make the in-person training on March 11th, DCCCA does provide this training virtually as well. Anyone who would be interested in the virtual option can e-mail me at akelly@dccca.org.”

No preregistration is required; attendees can simply show up by 9:00 a.m. This informative training will equip attendees with the knowledge to safely handle their daily medications.
