River Valley Extension District Celebrates 4-H Week

National 4-H week started on October 1st and will end on October 7th. 4-H is America’s largest youth development organization. It reaches almost six million young people throughout the United States, through 100 public universities. There are a variety of programs for all interests, guided by adult mentors.

Kansas 4-H is led by K-State Research and Extension. Youth can enroll at any time and clubs are open to residents of Kansas ages 7 through nineteen. Kansas 4-H also offers “4-H Cloverbuds” for children ages five or six. The requirement is that a child must have celebrated their 5th or 6th birthday before January 1st of that year.
