The 70th Annual Singing Christmas Tree is set for Sunday, December 14th, in Martyn Snodgrass Auditorium at 2:00 p.m. This year’s Star honor goes to senior Savanah Bloomdahl.

Bloomdahl has been in vocal all four years of high school, with this being her second year in Tiger Chorale. She said she has some experience singing solo.

“The past couple of years, I’ve had a couple of solos in That’s Entertainment, so I think that’ll help with nerves for sure.”

She will sing ‘Wrap this One Up’ by Christy Nockels. For decades, being the Star has been an honor for students. Bloomdahl said she was encouraged to audition last year.

“Last year, seeing Tovah singing her solo really encouraged me to want to audition this year and hopefully get it.”

Bloomdahl is very active in school. Along with being a part of Tiger Chorale, she also competes in multiple sports, is involved in NHS and FCA, and has been an honor roll student throughout high school.

She plans to pursue a degree in Nursing at Fort Hays State University next year.
