Clay County Sheriff Alan Benninga filed for a second term.

Each Sheriff term lasts four years and follows the presidential election cycle.

This was Benninga’s first term as Sheriff, and he said he’s looking forward to a possible four additional years in the position.

Benninga said he will have 25 years of experience with the Sheriff’s Department this December.
