The St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Clay Center will once again hold its Kids Café this summer for all children up to 18 years of age.  St. Paul’s Kids Café is a free lunch program offered by the church, running Monday through Friday from June 2nd to July 31st, except July 4th.

Deacon Carolyn Garwood said this Grab-And-Go style program has been going on for many years. She said this is for any children.

“We provide a hot lunch for any children in the community and the surrounding area.”

“The kids can come themselves, or their parents or guardians can come and pick up food for them, and then they can take it home to eat.”

The Kids Café will be held in the alley between the church and Wendy’s, just off 6th street, from 12:00 and 1:00 p.m. Parents or guardians will need to be with their child or children at the first pick-up for identification purposes. A card will then be provided for adults and children to use each time they pick up a lunch.

Garwood said in the past, they served around 100 children a day.  This is a great opportunity, by a caring organization, to make sure all children in the community have a lunch option throughout the summer.
