At a Clay County Commission meeting held on Monday, November 13th, one topic brought up by County Attorney Joel Mason is that the State online filing of cases system is still unavailable and that it has led to complications in multiple cases. Mason also said with the filing system down, he has not been able to amend the delinquent Real Estate Tax Sale. In response, Mr. Argo presented the rental agreement for the Clay County Event Center to Mr. Mason, so that necessary modifications can be made to suit Clay County’s needs.
In other business, Austin Gillard, the CEO of CCMC, spoke with the Board regarding the expansion of the Family Physicians Clinic. Since the County is the owner of both the Clinic and the Medical Center, their approval is needed for the renovation to proceed. Mr. Gillard offered plans and images outlining the proposed project, including a 5,200-square-foot Mental Health Wing, an exterior overhaul of the Emergency Room, and a more efficient layout for the Wellness Center parking lot. Commissioner Carlson made the motion to endorse Resolution 2023-6, confirming the necessity for the renovation and expansion of the Clay Center Family Physicians Clinic, Emergency Department Facility, and the Wellness Center parking lot. Commissioner Mayo seconded the motion, and it received unanimous approval
