For over five years, community members and area businesses have come together to fund Free Movie Fridays at The Rex Theatre in Clay Center.

This year, the funds raised from their donations will allow The Rex to show 8 free movies every Friday from May 31 to July 19. A full list of the movies to be shown is available on The Rex Theatre Facebook page and website.

Reneé Langvardt of The Rex Theatre said the yearly event gives kids and families in the community a fun place to hang out and meet with friends.

Langvardt said the movies for this year’s program were chosen by the sponsors, which is a slight change from previous years.
