Clay Center competed at the Abilene Invitational on Friday. It was a standout day for Jace Weller and Lauren Smith. Smith broke the Tiger 400 Meter record that was set by Garla (Chaffee) Pierson in 1979. Smith hit a time of 57.92 taking 1st Place. Weller broke a record that had stood since 1955 by Bill Tillman. Weller ran a 21.78 in the 200 Meter to set the new record for 1st Place; he also ran a sub 11 in the 100 at 10.82. The Tigers had several shine at the event. First Place finishes also went to the boys 4×100, boys 4×400, Shae Urban in Girls Discus the girls 4×800.
