Two Clay Center Community High School students have been selected to serve on the CADCA National Youth Council.
Lori Martin of the CCCHS YLinK, or Youth Leaders in Kansas, group explains the CADCA organization:
CADCA has a national advisory council that helps to direct their efforts. Martin says efforts to gain a position on the council are very competitive:
Both McDonald and Blackwood will receive funding to visit Chicago this summer to serve on the board. McDonald and Blackwood have additionally been asked to speak at national and state panels in relation to the event. Martin says both girl’s input will be used to organize the CADCA national convention, where they will be asked for their ideas for prevention activities targeting youth across America.
