Due to District budget reductions, the Parents as Teachers (PAT) USD 379 & 334 program will be closing its doors at the end of June. This difficult decision comes at USD 379 and Districts across the country deal with the impact of lower enrollment numbers.
Since 1984 PAT has been serving communities across the country and beyond, promoting school readiness and development for children aged 0 to 5 years. PAT partners with families of young children to promote positive parent practices, increase school readiness, provide early detection of developmental delays, and more.
In Clay County and Southern Cloud, the local PAT program has been providing valuable resources and support to families and young children over the last 19 years. This resource is especially impactful for families that do not qualify for other programs.
Throughout the coming months USD 379 will be providing information to parents and families about additional resources, alternative options, and ideas to keep children on track in their school readiness journey. The District stated that they will assist in any way they can to make this transition as smooth as possible.
