Wakefield Girls Open Season with Convincing Road Win

The Wakefield Bombers started their basketball season strong with a commanding 55-35 victory over the Centre Cougars on Friday. This marks the second consecutive win for Wakefield against Centre, continuing their recent success in the matchup.

Paige Smith led the Bombers with an impressive 20 points, shooting 8 for 9 from the field, while adding five rebounds and two steals. Allison Adams also had a standout performance, scoring 18 points with seven rebounds and three steals, including a career-high four three-pointers. Grace Rohrer contributed six points and dominated the boards with eight rebounds.

Wakefield will look to maintain their momentum on Tuesday when they travel to face Solomon at 6:00 p.m. Centre will be on the road the same evening, seeking their first win of the season against Chase County at 7:00 p.m.
