The newest expansion to the Wakefield Museum is making good progress according to Joy Shandy, the President of the Museum.

In August of 2023, the Wakefield Museum broke ground on their newest expansion. Shandy says this new expansion will add several new amenities and much needed space:

Shandy says the expansion still has a ways to go before completion, but progress has been fairly steady:

The Wakefield Museum has undergone several expansions in the past, but because the Museum doesn’t receive tax dollar support, the funds for all of the expansions have been raised by fundraisers and private individuals or organizations with familial relations to the small town, including the current expansion.

Shandy expects the newest expansion will be completed by the end of May, just in time for the Museum’s 50th anniversary.
