The Clay Center Farmer’s Market will have two indoor markets in November. Vendor Shawna Pederson tells us what to expect at the Market, “We have a market this weekend and the following weekend. It’s in Common Ground. We are going to have a series of 14 different vendors there. We have vendors that are going to have crafts and woodworking. We’ve got two vendors that will be there with a bunch of baked goods, and several of us have holiday food such as jams and jellies. There’s someone that’s going to be there with buffalo meat, honey, baked goods, and all sorts of other holiday-related items for people to purchase.”
Pederson says that customers and vendors alike requested an indoor market in the winter months. The market is not only a place where goods are bought and sold but also a social activity for many. “We started doing the indoor market four years ago. During COVID and the year after, we had a lot of growth at the market, and many of our vendors were having such good luck and having so much fun. They wanted to continue it, but it was just too cold. So, Common Ground has allowed us to rent that space, and we do two markets in November and one in December because vendors just really enjoy what they’re doing.”
To wrap up 2024, a third indoor market will be held on December 14th, also at Common Ground in Clay Center.
