The hearing for a Beloit man involved in a deadly hit and run east of Clay Center last month has been rescheduled while waiting for reports from the KBI, according to the Clay County Attorney Office of Joel Mason.
On May 4th Jacob Tyler Zelinski, 27, was heading eastbound when his truck crossed into the westbound lane, entered the north ditch and struck another vehicle, killing 82-year-old Dale Hammond of Clay Center. Zelinski fled on foot, but was apprehended a short time later.
Zelinski is charged with six counts, including involuntary manslaughter, leaving the scene of an accident involving death, driving under the influence, failure to maintain a lane, illegal registration, and failure to wear a seatbelt.
A new hearing is set for August 10th.
